Dubai Harbour is a waterfront district on Dubai's western coast, set between Palm Jumeirah and Bluewaters Island, right next to Dubai Marina and JBR. It was master-developed by Meraas, and the harbour destination itself is now presented by Shamal Holding. Access is from King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Street, which links straight to Sheikh Zayed Road. The residential side is mostly high-rise towers, led by Emaar Beachfront and newer launches such as DAMAC Bay and W Residences.
What makes Dubai Harbour stand out?
• A marina that Property Finder describes as the largest in the Middle East and North Africa, with more than 1,100 berths
• A cruise terminal inside the district, which Property Finder describes as the region's biggest
• Emaar Beachfront has its own 1.5 km stretch of beach, according to Emaar
• The Dubai International Boat Show is held at the harbour
Education
Families living here usually look at schools in Al Sufouh, Al Barsha and Dubai Marina; Bayut lists GEMS Wellington International School, Dubai American Academy and the International School of Choueifat among the options in the wider area. Check each school's current KHDA rating before deciding.
Healthcare
Day-to-day care is mainly in Dubai Marina, with clinics such as Marina Medical Center close by. For hospital care, residents typically drive to facilities like Mediclinic Meadows.
Transport & connectivity
King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Street connects the district to Sheikh Zayed Road (E11) within minutes. The nearest Red Line stations, Sobha Realty and DMCC, are about ten minutes away by car, and RTA bus routes 8, 84 and F55 serve the area. The Dubai Tram runs nearby through Al Sufouh and Dubai Marina.
Lifestyle & shopping
Life here revolves around the water: yachting, beach clubs, watersports and harbour-front restaurants. Emaar Beachfront has its own retail centre of about 13,000 sq m, while Dubai Marina Mall and the JBR Walk cover bigger shopping trips.
Important note
Many towers here are still off-plan. Confirm that the project is registered with the Dubai Land Department, that payments go into the project escrow account, and check the expected handover date with the developer. Sea and marina views vary a lot between towers and floors, so ask for the exact unit orientation.
