Mina Rashid

Mina Rashid is a waterfront community being built on the site of Port Rashid, which opened in 1972 as Dubai's first commercial port. After cargo operations moved to Jebel Ali Port in 2018, the old port began its conversion into a residential and leisure destination, with Emaar and DP World behind the new homes. It lies on the coast next to Al Mina and Bur Dubai, a short drive from Al Shindagha and Dubai Creek.

What makes Mina Rashid stand out?
• Rashid Yachts & Marina, with its yacht club, is at the centre of the community
• The QE2 has been moored here since 2008 and opened as a floating hotel in April 2018
• The port still runs a cruise terminal for international ships
• Residents are close to old Dubai and the Creek, with Sheikh Rashid Road linking to the rest of the city

Education
Bayut lists schools in nearby Bur Dubai and Oud Metha, including Ambassador School in Al Mankhool, GEMS Winchester School on Oud Metha Road and New Academy School. Check current KHDA ratings and seat availability before buying for a family move.

Healthcare
Rashid Hospital, one of Dubai's main government hospitals, is the nearest major hospital, and Aster Hospital is around 20 minutes away. Private clinics across Bur Dubai handle routine care.

Transport & connectivity
Sheikh Rashid Road connects the area to Sheikh Zayed Road and the rest of the city. Al Ghubaiba and Al Fahidi stations on the Dubai Metro Green Line are about 10 minutes away by car.

Lifestyle & shopping
Day to day, life centres on the marina, the promenade and the QE2. BurJuman and City Centre Al Shindagha are the nearest malls, and the heritage areas of Al Shindagha, Al Fahidi and the old souks are close by.

Important note
Many of the buildings are still off-plan, so check that the project is registered with Dubai Land Department, that payments go into its escrow account, and that you understand the handover schedule. Confirm freehold status for your unit with the land department, and judge views and distances from the exact building rather than from marketing images.
