Dubai Sports City is a master-planned community built around sport. Ground was broken in 2004 and the first facilities opened in 2008. It sits between Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road (E311) and Al Khail Road (E44), next to Motor City, Jumeirah Village Circle, Dubai Production City and Arjan. Apartments make up most of the housing, with villa and townhouse pockets around the golf course.
What makes Dubai Sports City stand out?
• Dubai International Stadium, a 25,000-seat cricket venue, and the ICC Academy are inside the community
• The Els Club, the first Ernie Els-designed golf course in the Middle East
• Sports academies and courts for football, rugby, tennis and padel
• Listed as a freehold area where foreign buyers can own property outright
Education
Schools in or near the community include Victory Heights Primary School, Dwight School Dubai and Renaissance School, plus several nurseries. Middlesex University Dubai and the University of Wollongong in Dubai are both within a 20-minute drive. Inspection ratings change from year to year, so check each school's latest KHDA report before you decide.
Healthcare
Day-to-day needs are covered by clinics such as Aster Clinic and Saudi German Clinic. NMC Specialty Hospital is a short drive away along the E311.
Transport & connectivity
The E311 and E44 run along both sides of the community, and Hessa Street leads towards the coast. Bus routes F34, F38 and J02 serve the area. The nearest metro station is Dubai Internet City, about 12 minutes by car. Most residents rely on a car, and traffic at the community's two entry and exit points can back up at peak hours.
Lifestyle & shopping
For daily shopping there are local supermarkets, plus First Avenue Mall in Motor City and City Centre Me'aisem in Dubai Production City. Mall of the Emirates is roughly 10–15 minutes away by car. The community also has gyms and two mosques.
Important note
Check that the project is registered with the Dubai Land Department and, for off-plan, that payments go into the project's escrow account. Building quality and views vary a lot from tower to tower, so time the drive from the exact building to the E311 at the hours you'll use it.
